One day after the ISB Convention in Richmond.....
Smiling big time on my first gig with Czech-Ease,
Vintage Virginia Wine Festival, The Plains, VA June 2003

Visiting David Gage String Instrument Shop in NYC
January 2004

Giving a clinic for elementary school students, May 2003.
Assisted by Daniel Russo on (his dad's) Drums, and Aaron Murray on cowbell.
"I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell!
As a birthday gift to himself, Mike Noonan (stellar vibraphone/marimba/melodica artist - pictured here with trombone) thought it would be funny to hire a few bass players for the same gig. He called each of us the day before what he described as a "last-minute, funny little 15 minute duo thing at Barnes & Noble." We all showed up around the same time, and had a good laugh.
When we attempted to set up and actually play, the store management came unglued. The B&N Information Minister stated that "...no live music was permitted in the store...." Lengthy negotiation revealed a serious sense of humor defecit, and rather than risk being forcibly ejected, we quickly posed for the above photo just prior to packing up our basses.
Not exactly the Joe Venuti gag, but still cute.
Happy Birthday, Mike!
